Please note the library will be closed Dec. 24-26. Regular hours resume on Dec. 27 (Thursday). And we have been duplicating effort, to what purpose? I don’t know. We seem to reach more people on Facebook, so find our latest information there!
It’s that time of year. We will be closed Nov. 22-23 for Thanksgiving and the following Friday, so make sure to come and get your holiday reading material a bit early. Please note that Nov. 19-21, Mon.-Weds., we will be open regular hours. So if you want to stop in, say, on your way to a teacher conference, for a cup of coffee or to read the paper, please do!
Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5-7, remember to come in and decorate your sugar skull! We will also have an altar to remember our loved ones, so if you’d like to contribute a photographic or written memory, feel free to bring and add it. Other awesome activities–and some refreshments–will be available. See you at the party!
Post-Halloween letdown? Never!
The library’s annual Day of the Dead celebration will be Thursday, Nov. 1, from 5-7. Decorate sugar skulls and try some pan de muerto–bread of the dead–specially made by Miguel’s of Bangor. Bring everyone!
Which means Halloween is around the corner. Enjoy a craft on Thurs., Oct. 11 and get ready for our Day of the Dead celebration on Thurs., Nov. 1. Meanwhile, grab a scary book and snuggle up!
